DigestsMonthly
Two lenses on the same calendar month. What was announced this month, and which jobs ended this month.
In November 2020, employers announced 668 layoff notices affecting 56,689 workers across 27 states in the USA, down 13% from October 2020. Separately, 52,692 jobs ended in November 2020.
How to read these numbers
Filed this month counts notices by the date they were announced. Jobs ending this month counts layoffs by the date workers actually leave. The two halves rarely match, because notices are published before the layoffs they describe take effect. Federal WARN generally requires 60 days' advance notice for covered events, but requirements, exceptions, and the dates in individual records vary.
