DigestsMonthly
Two lenses on the same calendar month. What was announced this month, and which jobs ended this month.
In February 2005, employers announced 59 layoff notices affecting 7,784 workers across 8 states in the USA, down 11% from January 2005. Separately, 6,158 jobs ended in February 2005.
How to read these numbers
Filed this month counts notices by the date they were announced. Jobs ending this month counts layoffs by the date workers actually leave. The two halves rarely match, because notices are published before the layoffs they describe take effect. Federal WARN generally requires 60 days' advance notice for covered events, but requirements, exceptions, and the dates in individual records vary.
